As part of our commitment to your wellbeing, all permanent salaried staff are required to enroll in either the Discovery or Momentum Health Medical Scheme. This is unless you are already covered by your spouse/partner’s medical scheme or an international medical scheme providing coverage in South Africa.
The best part? If you join within 90 days of starting, you’ll be able to do so without facing a 3-month general waiting period, a 12-month pre-existing condition exclusion, or a late-joiner penalty! This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure you and your loved ones have access to top-notch healthcare.
Don’t miss out on this chance to get the coverage you deserve.
Together, let's prioritize your health and wellbeing!

Gap Cover
Gap cover is additional insurance that supplements your medical scheme by covering specialist in-hospital shortfalls, co-payments in hospital or on MRI/CT scans, accidental casualty expenses, and more.
Turnberry is the preferred gap cover provider for Advisor Office employees, offering the choice between Turnberry Launch or Synergy plans. Membership is voluntary, and monthly contributions are deducted from your salary.
To join, complete the Application Form and submit it to supergroup@advisoroffice.com before 10 December 2024.
Waiting periods are waived if you enroll in cover within 30 days of joining the company. Otherwise, the following waiting periods may apply:
- A 3-month general waiting period for all benefits (except in case of an accident under the policy’s coverage). If your Policy and Medical Scheme start on the same date, this waiting period doesn’t apply to Medical Expense Shortfall Cover (which increases the medical rate up to 600%).
- A 10-month waiting period for pregnancy/childbirth.
- A 12-month waiting period for investigations, treatment, or surgery related to specific conditions like hysterectomy, hysteroscopies, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids (myomectomy), muscular-skeletal issues (except in the case of an accident under the policy), tonsillectomy, myringotomy, grommets, adenoids, wisdom teeth, hernia, cataracts, gastroscopies, colonoscopies, cancer, nasal, and sinus procedures.
Chronic Medication and Disease Management
If you’ve been diagnosed with a chronic condition such as hypertension, diabetes, or an illness like oncology or dialysis, it’s important to register this with your medical scheme.
Medical schemes have a process in place for registering on their chronic illness management programs. It’s recommended to first obtain your membership number and then submit your application for chronic and disease registration.
Membership Rewards and
Loyalty Programs
Your medical scheme might offer a loyalty program focused on wellness, offering rewards, discounts, and benefits for adopting a healthier lifestyle. Please note that participation in these programs may involve an additional cost.
All forms and brochures can be found on their dedicated page.
Each provider has various forms that you may need to complete to ensure you are registered as a member.
